Networking for Home and Small Businesses, CCNA Discovery Learning Guide,
This review is from: Networking for Home and Small Businesses, CCNA Discovery Learning Guide (Paperback)Purchased this as a textbook for an Introduction to Networking course. Only negative is that CISCO is still using Windows XP on ALL their labs. If you are using Vista or Windows 7, you will need to adapt to different screen shots. As this is a thick text, I took it to FedEx Office [formerly Kinko's] and had it spiral bound into 3 sections: 1. Textbook, 2. Labs & 3. Answers, glossary & index. Good basic intro book.
Good intro book,
This review is from: Networking for Home and Small Businesses, CCNA Discovery Learning Guide (Paperback)More experienced individuals might find this book on the basic side of things, but it's great for someone who wants a thorough review and explanation of network and IT basics.
If you plan on taking a Cisco class that uses this book you will find it informative, as it explains concepts covered in the online material with greater detail, without using overly complicated terms or jargon.
Individuals that have already been introduced to Cisco Networking concepts might find the next book in the series more beneficial as it covers more technical aspects: (Working at a Small-to-Medium Business or ISP, CCNA Discovery Learning Guide )
