Michelle Plumb

Michelle Plumb has been working in the telecommunications and network design arena since the late 1980s. In high school she was one of the first female programmers to compete in a regional competition for a new IBM computer in 1984. After school she started working for a company that designed and installed network cabling and business phone systems. As the years passed she developed a passion for working with computers and data network infrastructures. In the late 1990s she started to enjoy teaching as a side job. She was fortunate enough to find an opening to begin teaching Microsoft’s MCSE track and Cisco’s ICND course. When she started teaching ICND, there was only one exam needed to pass to achieve CCNA status. For her, watching this course evolve over the years and watching the technology advance has been amazing.

Michelle currently teaches the entire CCNP Voice track on-line as well as assists with the ICND1 and ICND2 courses. She is a Cisco Certified Systems Instructor (CCSI) at Skillsoft, Cisco Certified Virtual On-Line trainer, and has various certifications including CompTia A+, Network+ and Project +, Cisco’s CCNA and CCNP Voice, along with Microsoft’s MCSE. She is a technical editor for several Cisco Press books covering CVOICE, CCNP TSHOOT and CCNP ROUTE. She currently reside in beautiful Phoenix, Arizona (where they always say, “but It’s a dry heat” when it reaches 110) with her husband, who puts up with having a VoIP phone system running in the house, and their two dogs.
